ORIGIN: Hand blockprinted by 10th generation master printer, Sufiyan Ismail Khatri. "My father is a blockprint artisan. Generations before him carried on the art. It passed down to my father and now to me", says Khatri. His family is world-renowned for their quality of Ajrakh textile art. From the intricate carving of teak woodblocks to hand printing to repeated washing and dying, the production process takes several weeks!
COLOR: Pigments used are all-natural and eco friendly, consisting of vegetable and mineral dyes as well as various barks and roots. This fabric has been washed and boiled several times to ensure superb colorfastness and has minimal run and color transfer.
