A colorful, practical kitchen essential — made with natural cotton batting and built-in hand pockets.

A customer favorite in our shops, these kantha pot holders bring the beauty of vintage textiles to the everyday kitchen. Each is made from upcycled cotton sari fabric, layered with natural cotton batting and finished with traditional kantha running stitch. Built-in hand pockets make them comfortable and easy to use when handling hot cookware.

Available in two shapes — Square and Circle — and four colors: Mustard, Red, Sage, and Turquoise. Every pot holder is one of a kind, with its own combination of color and vintage sari pattern. Customers love choosing their favorite colors and discovering the unique designs in each piece — no two are ever exactly alike.

An easy add-on purchase alongside our kantha towels and quilts, they're also a thoughtful gift for anyone who appreciates useful, beautifully made textiles.

THE STORY
Deep in the jungles of West Bengal, India, we work with a WFTO Guaranteed fair trade women's cooperative in a region known for its tradition of kantha embroidery. We've partnered with this cooperative for over a decade, refining the details of our kantha collection together.

Artisans carefully sort and wash vintage cotton saris before layering the fabric with natural cotton batting and securing it with traditional running stitches. The result is a durable, beautifully textured piece that gives new life to vintage textiles while supporting the skilled hands that make it.

Each pot holder is finished entirely by hand, giving every piece its own unique combination of color, pattern, and character.

CARE
Machine wash hot or cold. Tumble dry high or low. Colors may soften slightly over time — this is part of the natural character of the vintage fabric.
