ORIGIN: Awamaki is a community-driven nonprofit social enterprise working closely with Quechua artisans in Peru's Sacred Valley. Each skein is handspun using the traditional puska, an ancestral Andean spinning tool dating back to pre-Inca times. Passed down through generations, this skilled technique preserves a rich textile heritage while celebrating the artistry of handmade yarn.
